Here is a glossary of some keywords to help you understand the information you will be reading during this unit and while using this pathfinder. Use these for searching too.

conscription
Conscription is a government policy that requires citizens to perform compulsory military service.
diplomacy
Diplomacy refers to formal and informal communications between nations and their governments.
propaganda
Information given to show something or someone in a biased way.
alliance
A formal political, military or economic agreement between two or more nations. 
militarism
An aggressive political position focused on the role of the armed services in maintaining the security of the state andgaining power.
imperialism
The imposition of one nation's government, culture and/or economic needs on another.
nationalism
A belief in the priority, and often superiority, of the interests of a particular nation.
